Why the Guru Played A trick

You must have heard the old saying that the eye cannot see itself, the ear cannot hear itself, etc.. In similar way you cannot know yourself. But question will arise why so much of fuss in the name of self-realisation? The only plausible explanation in reference to the truth declared by various Masters appears to be that the Masters in the olden days played the trick with the humanity out of compassion towards them This trick is very much necessary to be played with otherwise nobody will even think of in this direction if he is told that nothing is going to be found/achieved. See the mind is always interested in getting/finding/achieving something. It cannot act if some target/goal has not been given i.e. something not only must exist but should be in the realm of mind to be grasped. Hence , the word self-realisation gives an impression that there is a self which is going to be target of realisation and which is going to give so much of bliss and what not. This appeals to the mind and the mind gets attracted. For this the Guru gives a particular method for practicing, although the Guru is fully aware that this is not going to help as there is nothing to achieve. The disciple goes on practicing with a target. If the old method does not work the Guru either gives new method or fine tunes the old one to suit the demand of the mind. The Guru waits for the right time to communicate the truth. The right time comes when the mind gets bored/tired/frustrated with what it is practicing and wants to drop the whole business of seeking (the mind comes to maturity to listen to the truth going to be communicated by the Guru). In other words the grip/clutch of the desire/thought for enlightenment comes to an end and simultaneously the attitude of the mind takes a 180 degree turn towards the thing/facts of the life. Both the limbs of this happens i.e. nothing is anyone's control neither Guru nor disciple. Finally one finds himself/herself established in one's natural state not different from other animate or inanimate things albeit with knowing/ awareness. This is the mystery behind the self-realisation.
