Remembrance of Death can Create Miracles In One's Life
Once upon a time there was a famous Maharashtrian saint Shri Eknath.
People from all walk of life used to come to meet him for discussion and his blessings.
Once a young healthy person came to meet him. It was morning time on Sunday.
When his turn came for meeting with Eknath, he told him that "Despite having all material things in his possession he is not happy and you are only having a "langoti" on his body but appears to be relaxed and happy always. What is the secret behind that?"
Eknath said "your question is quite relevant and requires sometime to reply. Please wait till evening so that I will be able to devote time for this question after all the visitors have gone."
He waited till evening. When nobody was there he reminded Eknath about his question.
In stead of answering straight way he asked the person to show him his palm.
Eknath after closely looking his palm became very serious. The person forgot his original question and asked what is the matter ?
Eknath told forget about that I will answer your original question.
But he insisted for second question.
After showing much reluctance Eknath said to him " you are going to die at 6PM on next sunday as I could see from your life lines on your palm".
The person immediately became half dead as it was known to everybody in that area that Swami Eknath words always come true.
He reached his home somehow in 1 hour while in the morning it took only 10 minutes in coming to Eknath place.
In the family everybody was in shock.
The person called everybody and asked for pardon for anything which he might have done wrong with him knowingly or unknowingly. He withdrew all the suits filed in the court against whom he had some problems.
Neither he was not taking food nor was looking towards his family members.
He was bedridden and was just looking towards calender like Arjuna was looking in the eyes of the fish.
On Sunday he was almost dead and was now looking towards clock in stead of calender.
Just 2 minutes to 6 pm Swami Eknath arrived at the door of that person.
All family members went to him and prayed to him for his life.
Eknath asked where is that fellow.
He went near his bed and asked him to sit.
He told Eknath what are you saying. It is only two minutes to 6 pm and you are telling me to sit.
Swami asked him "can you tell anything which you have done wrong in last one week?"
He said "forget about doing anything wrong in this week, I have even converted all my earlier wrong doings into right. All my enemies have become my friends now."
Eknath said "If you could not do anything wrong in 7 days after you knew that you are going to die in 7 days, then how I can do anything wrong when I am in constant awareness that I can even die in the next moment also. There is no guarantee that I will be alive next moment."
Swami Eknath said "you are not going to die . I had just answered your question regarding reasons behind my happiness."
No body knows how much of earthy life is remaining balance in the life's account, but one thing everybody knows with certainty that every moment is being debited from the unknown balance.
Degree of Happiness depends upon less and less of wrong doings i.e. the degree of happiness is inversely proportional to the degree/no of wrong doings.
It is said that the person who was almost dead woke up and started the same as he was doing a week ago.(Dog's tail)
Similarly if somebody has become interested in spirituality because of circumstances especially bad experiences then most probably he will go to the same situation as soon as those circumstances are no more.
