Permanent name and address- Story

There was a king, who was very much interested in knowing GOD.

He used to travel a lot in meeting Gurus/Fakirs/Mahatmas/Masters etc. to quench his desire of knowing GOD.

But none of them could quench his desire, instead everybody referred Bible or Gita or Koran ect. depending upon their faith and conditioning.

He finally he left his hpe of fulfilling his cherished desire to know God.

But one day his trusted minister came to him and told that “a young Fakir has come to his kingdom and is staying in a temple near the palace only and it is said about him that he knows GOD”.

After much persuasion by the minister, the king decided to meet the young Fakir taking as a last chance to fulfill his desire.

The Fakir was young and he always used to have a long, heavy and strong staff with him and he only used to meet alone with the visitor.

The king reached near the temple and thought about his personality. He was puzzled why he was having a Danda and meeting the people individually alone. He might kill/harm me, he thought.

But as he was king so he knew that if the Fakir did so, my persons would not spare him. (The ego of the king came into play)

He entered in the temple and saw there a young strong built body having a big staff in his hand was looking towards him.

The king went near the Fakir and asked him “ I have heard that you know GOD. Is it true?”

The Fakeer said, “Yes, it is absolutely true”.

The king asked “Can I meet God”?

The Fakir replied “Why not , but when do you want to meet the GOD immediately or after some time?”

The king was shocked as he heard such reply for the first time in his life. He got confused. He thought “whether he is going to kill me or what?” Because he had heard that nobody can meet the GOD within this body.

But again the ego of the king came into play. He said “I want to meet immediately.”

The Fakir took out a small piece of plain paper and asked the king to write his “permanent name” and “permanent address.”

As usual the king wrote his name and the address of his palace.

The Fakir asked the king “Should I take it for granted that your name and address are permanent and are not subject to change in future?”

The king asked “Why are you asking such silly question when everybody including you knows that I am the king and this(place) is address ?”

The Fakir said you know very well that the GOD is “permanent”, for any meeting to be fixed with Him a permanent name and permanent address are required.

The Fakir further asked the king “Suppose your kingdom is attacked tomorrow and you are defeated, still this address is valid? And further, will you not flee away from this kingdom in order to save your life? You may become a beggar. In that state will you be able to tell your name that you have written?”

The king said “No”.

The Fakir said “ It means neither your name is permanent nor your address.”

The king was very intelligent and he understood the whole point.

He asked the Fakir to hand over the piece of paper on which he had written his name and address to him and said to Fakir that “When I will find out my permanent name and permanent address, I will come to you.”

The Fakir replied “Once you know your permanent name and permanent address, no desire will be left in you either to meet GOD or to meet to me.”
