How To Know/Test Whether The Person Is Fit To Become "You Guru" Or Not"

How To Know/Test Whether The Person Is Fit To Become "You Guru" Or Not"

Let me explain the meaning of a few words (what I mean) which will be helpful in understanding the method to be employed.

1. Guru- Whosoever is “above” you as far as understanding of any topic /word /phrase is concerned. By discussing with him your understanding is going to be uplifted/enriched/refined (you will be uplifted/confusion will be lessened/ego will be loosened, because your own old thoughts will be no more as they will get replaced by new thoughts of Guru).

2. You- Your mind/ego which is nothing but the impulses (reactions) produced by the body-mind structure in response to the outer (includes body and mind also as you are not that) stimulus / inputs.

3. Some outer qualities of the Guru (may not be perceived by all but one who is a good meditator who is capable of sensing/feeling the vibrations) - Whole personality of an enlightened person is different from normal one. He will walk in a different fashion; eat in a different fashion, etc. His all actions will happen in slow motion. From all of his activities his state relaxation will be reflected. One would like just to sit in his presence not knowing why. One would like to listen his (what he says is not important) voice not knowing why. Such feelings are felt through other sense organs also. Only thing is to watch that in no way you are emotionally attached to that person otherwise mind can create any type of experience of even so called arousal of so called kundalini, darshan of various gods and goddesses like Ramakrishna Paramhansa who could finally got rid of that hallucination after he met his advaita Guru Totapuri.

4. Aura- This is the energy body which is nothing but shuttle counterpart of gross body and is nothing but electromagnetic radiations being emanated from the body. Only thing is that it consists of “prana” which in itself is self-conscious (may be a form of photons). This aura is directly related to the status of mind i.e. it changes with change in level of understanding. The aura of a person (Guru) who is above you is always larger than yours because “its size is directly proportional to the degree/level of understanding.”

5. Satang-(to be with truth) - Just remaining in the presence of the Guru. This is especially relevant when you are not attached emotionally with Guru.

6. Stream of thoughts- If you watch yourself you will be surprised that a no of thoughts are welling up or getting perceived by the brain continuously whether they are of any use to you or not. The thinking itself is not in your hand. Those thoughts generally having no connection with each other can be counted easily. There are essential (useful for survival of this body-mind structure) thoughts and non-essential (has no relation with the life as such) thoughts. More than 99% are basically non-essential ,that is why the brain being only 2% of total body weight consumes 20% of total energy produced by the body. Due to this we cannot retain our alertness in contrast to the animals who are always living in highened level of alertness like a child or a realised/enlightened person. The animals are alert even in their sleep because their brain consume veru less energy as only essential thoughts/desires are welling up in their brain. So called Spiritual thoughts you decide about its category.

  1. Go and seat near the person to be tested.
  2. Close your eyes and watch the following:

a) Breathing whether happening through chest or belly?- Belly

b) Whether the spinal cord is getting straitened automatically or not?-Yes

c) Whether the speed of stream of thoughts is getting diminished or not?-Yes

d) Whether any types of sensation is being felt by any of the sense organs or not in case he is not speaking or you are concentrating to your body?-Yes

f) If you have practiced to see aura then see his aura. Whether his aura is visible within seconds or not? Is the color of his aura golden or not?-Yes

g) Whether the nervous system automatically starts relaxing or not?-Yes

h) Whether your breathing has slowed down or not?-Yes

i) Whether you are feeling attracted towards him or not?-Yes

j) While listening you are analyzing what is being said at the same time or not?-No

m) Whether he is quoting somebody else’s thought repeatedly or not? - No, only sometimes.

n) Whether he promotes certain abstract thoughts or not?-No

o) Whether he is capable of answering properly or not?-Yes

p) The qualities of persons (company) who are dear and near to him also give some indications.

q) His answers are spontaneous or not?-Yes

r) He may sometimes get irritated or angry. You have to watch how much time it takes for him to regain his normal state. Is he just child like or like us who wait for an opportunity to take revenge?- Child-like(immediately normalised)

s) Whether he discriminates among the persons or not? (Like preferential treatment to somebody.)-No

t) Whether he gives equal attention to everything/everybody?-Yes

u) Whether he is open to all the ideas put before him or not?-Yes

v) Whether his words are delivered calmly with humility or not?-Yes

w) Whether he has put titles like sage / rishi / maharshi / swami /ma/amma etc.(marketing gimmicks or ego satisfaction) or not?- No

x) Whether he approves clapping(on his sayings) by the listeners or not?-No

y) Whether he charges fee even for having his darshan or not i.e. you have to judge about the purpose of fee collected.

z) Rests leave it to so called destiny.

Only condition in the above test is that either you should have no informations/ideas about the person to be tested (best situation) or have minimum informations/ideas so that mind by its wrong impressions may not affect the result you are looking for.

For a good meditator this job is relatively easy.

Note- The above list is not exhaustive one. There may be many other factors which I could not conceive of. Suggestions are invited.

Quarries are very much welcomed in this regard.
