Everybody has to start with belief , pass through faith (belief+trust) and if continued lands into trust. However, there is no clear cut demarcation between any two stages.
Faith is basically not a stage but a transitional phase.
This can be understood with a simple example.
Suppose you being at a place namely "A" want to go to a place namely "B" and if you ask me the path.
I tell you the path in with some important landmarks which you will/may encounter on the way and also about the place "B".
For you the details are merely a belief and you have to start with belief only because you have no option.
Now you start with the belief and as you progress on the path you go on encountering/seeing the landmarks as per original belief.
Whatever the parts of belief you encountered those cannot remain as beliefs , but became your own experience.
With the advent of start of vapourising of contents of belief the seed of your trust in me got sown.
Now this seed of trust starts sprouting and growing with the decrease in the contents of belief .
In energy terms, the energy which was withhold by contents of belief starts getting released and the trust (which was already present trust) is revealed.
In the end you become free from the belief as trust in me happened and got "established/fully revealed" or you found yourself landed in having trust in me.
Therefore for a normal human being of today any attempt to have trust directly without passing through the stage of belief and phase of faith , is almost impossible.
This (direct trust i.e. bypassing belief and faith) can happen only when you are having the innocence of a child.
