MARRIAGE IS AN EXCELLENT CATHARTIC
If both of the partners are even slightly mature or even one of the partners is sufficiently mature i.e. has sufficient understanding, then there is nothing like marriage. It can prove to be a bliss.
It can become the most sacred institution because in the life utilization of body by the partners is only a small part and that too is fully controlled by nature and unfortunately this is one of the major bones of contention of separation/divorce.
Marriage does not mean the system/arrangement as prevalent in the society.
Marriage is simply an arrangement to live together for the greater purpose of nature which wants to continue its existence through interaction of its components.
Even living in relationship is also no less than a marriage.
In any case married people are generally better placed or happier overall compared to single ones due to various factors .
This fact has been confirmed by many scientific as well as social studies conducted from time to time.
This is more obvious when a stage comes in person's life when the person starts living more for his/her children than for him/her-self. In single case the person starts feeling loneliness which otherwise could have been compensated by the partner.
But the foremost benefit of the marriage is that this works as an excellent "cathartic" like dream by providing various opportunities to release the blocked physical/mental energy by way of fighting, quarreling, abusing, enjoying sex as and when required basis, socializing, feeling of responsibility towards children and society, etc. etc. And life includes all ups and downs.
